This former outbuilding in the grounds of a Country Estate has been carefully restored and crafted in to a stunning 6 bedroom house. Originally thought to be a former stable block the building, our research established the original use as a purpose built workshop for a 1920’s car body manufacturer. Keen to retain the layers of history we sensitively remodelled, refurbished and extended the building to creating two distinct wings of accommodation. Sleeping accommodation is housed in the former workshop space while new living areas are incorporated within a glazed contemporary open plan extension. The two distinct types of space are connected by a transparent link connecting with the rejuvenated walled kitchen garden setting.
